Communications Committee
(January 2024 - Present)
As a communications committee member within Charlotte's chapter of the American Marketing Association, I am responsible for direct marketing efforts targeted toward our current members and prospecting efforts toward new members. I cannot wait to get more involved in the marketing scene in the city and work alongside such a talented, driven board of directors. I'm eagerly optimistic about the future of our chapter and passionate about contributing to its growth!
Sales & Marketing Assistant
(January 2023 - Present)
My year-long job search concluded in January of 2023 with an offer from the equipment financing lender, CCG. I was brought on to the marketing team as a Sales & Marketing Assistant utilizing my previous experience with the CRM platform, HubSpot, to improve upon the efficiency and organization of prospecting for our Regional Sales Managers spread across the US and Canada. “Small and mighty” is the nomenclature commonly used to describe our team, comprised of three of the hardest-working individuals I’ve had the privilege to work alongside, the team is responsible for managing digital assets across our three brands and partnering with our sales staff to optimize their performance along the way. The venture has proven to be a consistent grind and a fulfilling opportunity to grow alongside a group of individuals and a brand I’m proud to be a part of.
Rolling Stone Marketing
Founder & CEO
(October 2022 - Present)
Amidst the search for my next full-time opportunity, as a way to build upon my experience and working knowledge of the marketing space, I launched my own LLC. Opening a digital marketing consultancy allowed me to bolster a portfolio of freelance opportunities and continue to expand upon newfound techniques and avenues of the marketing department while building relationships with inspiring businesses and business leaders from across the United States. The name, Rolling Stone Marketing, stemmed from those same ideals. The launch deliberately coincided with a road trip across the continental US, expanding across Canada’s southern border and parts of Mexico as well. My first stop was Portland, ME where I was able to reconnect with many of the same peers that I had the pleasure of working with while at TideSmart, including some new faces as well. During the next three months on the road, I expanded upon my professional network and met a slew of individuals both in person and virtually from varying walks of life.
Senior Digital Marketing Manager
(May - November 2021)
Upon graduation, I was lucky enough to begin my professional marketing career as TideSmart Global's Digital Marketing Manager. I joined the team at a critical juncture in the company's history. As life in Maine and the rest of the country begins to return to normal, TideSmart began a rebranding phase in the hopes to position the marketing firm favorably in the eyes of prospective clients looking to increase marketing budgets at the end of 2021 and entering 2022. My job is to increase our brand's footprint in the digital space in an effort to maximize the potential and increase the clientele for this fantastic team of workaholics.
My initial workload will consist primarily of organizing the marketing efforts of the (now) three subsidiaries under the TideSmart brand into a centralized location in HubSpot. This will include updated sales deals, contact lists with reengagement tasks, connected social platforms, added analytics reports, and automation tools to ease campaign management. There's lots of work to be done and I am eager to get started at such a pivotal time for the company!
EDIT NOVEMBER 2021
What began as a role to organize our new business pipeline evolved into project management, paid search, media buys, statistical analysis, new business development, internal/external sustainable development, and social media ideation, I was a guest on the radio and had the ability to meet so many inspiring business leaders on the front lines of the climate crisis in the state of Maine! Unfortunately, after the new business department was cut, I found myself out of a job at the end of 2021. With the newfound sustainable direction the business was headed towards into the New Year, new partnerships on the horizon, and the projects I initiated to serve the Maine community cut short, it saddens me that I could not see those endeavors through to completion.
However, I head into 2022 optimistic and motivated to find a role where I may truly start to build a lifelong career. Within my next endeavor, I hope to blend personal passion with professional experience to optimize my contribution to the corporate environment and I cannot wait to see where my next venture will take me!
Co-Founder & VP of Marketing
(June 2020 - February 2021)
This past summer I returned to my roots joining a team of three and helping to co-found an exciting start-up venture called Chekk Trainer. The business model serves as a coaching and training platform for amateur and professional gamers alike, a billion-dollar industry that is growing rapidly and one of the few that was able to emerge out of the COVID pandemic even stronger than before. Since joining this past summer in June, the team has doubled in size and we are excited about new members of our computer vision sector working on a project to launch an AI program that adds in-game analytics to your favorite console/PC games. Until then, I am working hard to build out a marketing platform to gain traction with the public to increase overall awareness and receive helpful user feedback. Our team hopes to grow the brand to become enticing enough so that we can push our ideas towards an initial investing round in approximately 6 months, right around my graduation date from Auburn University!
EDIT MARCH 2021
My time with Chekk, unfortunately, came to a close this past February as our hopes of penetrating the eSports market did not pan out as expected. Nonetheless, the experience, knowledge, connections, and personal growth achieved throughout my time with the team were immeasurable. Even if the venture was doomed to fail, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. I had the unique privilege of working with such a talented team of driven individuals, and I'm thankful to all of them for teaching me so much about what it means to start your own business.
Marketing & Social Media Intern
(May - August 2019)
Following my summer with CompuCom, I worked for Ivester Jackson Christie's International Real Estate, a leading luxury brokerage out of the Charlotte and Lake Norman area and a subsidiary of a leading luxury brokerage of the industry worldwide. Again, I was exposed to foreign and lucrative tasks in an unfamiliar industry. This time, I was able to rapidly adapt to the new work environment and was able to prove my worth quickly to the team. My primary workload involved social media management for the company's account as well as the accounts for the broker-in-charge, Lori Jackson. I wrote blog postings, proofread/revised digital content for the rest of the team, and aided our brokers with any number of problems they might have. My main project of the summer was the cultivation of marketing material from the ground up for one of our commercial projects coming to the Charlotte area. The English-modern style community, Tynecastle Southpark, featured 14 distinctive village terrace homes designed by Greg Perry, a revolutionary architect of the state. I built and maintained the social media pages and website for the endeavor, of which I am very proud. After my third year in the marketing sector and my time at IJ, I gained newfound confidence in my abilities as a digital marketer. I ended the summer of 2019 feeling significantly wiser than the 17-year-old analyst from high school.
Marketing Intern
(May - August 2018)
The summer of my sophomore year in college presented a very different job opportunity than my previous position at 2ULaundry. Instead of diving into the fast-paced environment of a start-up company, I was now working for a company of over 10,000 employees worldwide. CompuCom has cemented itself as a tech juggernaut and had recently been purchased by Office Depot for a staggering $1 billion dollars. The transition into a corporation of such magnitude and stature was a new and exciting challenge but it wouldn't be the only obstacle of the summer. Within my first week of work the CEO of the company, Dan Stone, resigned and the change in management presented its own challenges. Over the coming months, the marketing team and I worked diligently to revamp our digital marketing material and rebrand our image as a whole. I learned about marketing automation, search engine optimization, and pay-per-click campaigns, and became familiar with marketing software platforms such as SalesForce and HubSpot. As the company grew through the third quarter, my own personal growth within the field of marketing was tremendous and the team of experienced professionals around me taught me so much. I concluded the summer with a sense of accomplishment and assurance that I had found the department that I was comfortable in for the long term.
Junior Analyst
(March - September 2016)
In my junior year of high school, I took an entrepreneurship course that taught the basics of building a company from scratch. Within the course, a pair of entrepreneurs from the Charlotte area came to speak to our class to offer lessons they had learned from their own experience building their own business, 2ULaundry. The idea came from a venture they pursued in college, called Wake Wash, where Alex and Dan outsourced laundry and dry-cleaning services for students that were willing to pay a small subscription fee, delivering washed and dry-cleaned clothes to their customers' residences. Extrapolated to a major city, 2ULaundry offered the same benefits this time to Charlotteans that wished to outsource the tedious chore of washing, drying, and folding to a trustworthy local business saving customers hours of their already busy schedules. As an aspiring entrepreneur myself, the obvious passion for their idea and devoted work ethic towards making it work inspired me, more so, I believed in their idea. Hoping to learn more and wanting to help in any way I could, I reached out to Alex and Dan expressing my interest in 2U.
I was given the opportunity to bolster the brand's awareness by placing door tags all around the metro area as a part of their promotional campaign to bring on new customers. I must have passed out a couple thousand and was proud to be awarded the position of Junior Analyst amongst the team. Operations were based out of glorified closet space within a larger office building and the team included myself and three others, I couldn't have been more thrilled. I was given a first-hand account of what it meant to be an entrepreneur and my responsibilities as an unpaid intern with no previous experience slowly grew. What started out as a job canvassing flyers grew into conducting contact research and organizing customer spreadsheets, attending corporate events, cross-promotional outreach via our company social channels, and website development for an expansion into the Davidson area, towards the end of the year I even began reaching out to angel investors and VC firms as we approached our second seed-stage round of funding.
I am forever grateful for the opportunity that Alex and Dan provided me at such a young age and to this day it remains one of my favorite job opportunities. The experience gained while at 2U provided a unique foundation for business early on in my career and would pique my interest in the world of marketing, which would become my major in college as well as the basis for future corporate opportunities.
